The Seahawks signed two free agent tight ends following their preseason loss in Tennessee, adding Michael Ezeike and Devon Garrison. The moves add depth after tight ends Pharaoh Brown and Jack Westover left last Thursday's joint practice with the Titans with what head coach Mike Macdonald called foot and hamstring injuries, respectively.
Linebacker Devin Richardson and cornerback Willie Roberts were waived to make room on the roster for the two signings.
Ezeike, a wideout-turned-tight-end out of UCLA, recorded 407 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a Bruin. The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. He spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League, but ultimately was waived prior to each of their respective seasons. In an obscure Seahawks connection, Ezeike caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Holton Ahlers, another 2023 undrafted free agent who spent time with the Seahawks, during the 2023 Hula Bowl.

Garrison is a two-time AP All-American out of Pittsburg State who racked up 1,581 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns during his campaign at the NCAA-II school in Kansas. Despite some buzz about late-round value in the 2024 NFL Draft, he went undrafted and attended rookie minicamp with both the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings this spring.
