After three weeks on the practice squad, receiver Cody Thompson is back on the Seahawks' 53-man roster.

Thompson, who opened the season on the 53-man roster, was waived after three games to make room on the roster for Jon Rhattigan, then signed to the practice squad. He was elevated from the practice squad for each of the past two games, and recorded his first career catch in Seattle's Week 4 win over the Giants.

No corresponding move was needed, as the Seahawks had an open spot on the roster having placed cornerback Coby Bryant on injured reserve Saturday.

The Seahawks also added two players to the practice squad, signing receiver Cody White and tackle Greg Eiland. Quarterback Holton Ahlers was released from the practice squad.

White, who went undrafted out of Michigan State in 2020, has spent the past three seasons with the Steelers on both the practice squad and active roster, appearing in 16 games with one start. White's father, Sheldon White, is a former NFL defensive back who is currently the director of pro scouting for the Steelers.

Eiland, who first signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State in 2021, spent most of the past two seasons on the practice squad, as well as time on the practice squad earlier this season after being waived during roster cuts.

The Seahawks and Cardinals face off on Sunday, Jan 7, 2024. Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. Take a look back through history at the Seahawks' matchups against the Cardinals.
