The Seahawks waived receiver Cody Thompson on Wednesday, opening a spot on the 53-man roster.

Thompson, who has been with the Seahawks since 2019, spending time on the practice squad and 53-man roster, appeared in all three games this season, primarily on special teams, playing 47 percent of Seattle's special teams snaps.

Thompson appeared in five games in 2021, then missed the 2022 season due to injury.

With Thompson waived, the Seahawks have only four receivers on their 53-man roster—Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo—but also have three receivers on the practice squad in Cade Johnson, Tyjon Lindsey and Easop Winston Jr.
