For the second time this season, outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu is back.

Nwosu, one of Seattle's top defensive players over the past two seasons prior to suffering a season-ending pectoral injury midway through last season, was activated from injured reserve Thursday, clearing the way for him to return for Seattle's Week 14 game against Arizona.

This is the second time this season Nwosu has had to work his way back from injury, having missed the first four games of the season due to a knee injury suffered in Seattle's preseason finale. Unfortunately for Nwosu and the Seahawks, that return was short-lived, as he suffered a thigh injury in his first game back.

Nwosu, who signed with the Seahawks as a free agent in 2022, had a team-leading 9.5 sacks that year and was arguably the team's best defensive player. He was off to another strong start in 2023 before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury in Week 6.

Being activated from IR isn't the only positive news for Nwosu this week, as he was named the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award on Thursday.

The Seahawks made additional roster moves Thursday, waiving CB Dee Williams and claiming WR Jaelon Darden off waivers.

The Seahawks and Cardinals face off on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PT. Take a look back through history at the Seahawks' matchups against the Cardinals.
