The Seahawks will likely be without top running back Kenneth Walker III for the second straight game when they host the Dolphins on Sunday.
Walker was a limited participant in Friday's practice, his first practice action since injuring his oblique in the season-opener, but he is listed as doubtful on the injury report.
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Walker is making progress, but added, "Not looking great right now for the game with Ken Walker, but he's working his tail off, getting better."
Asked about Walker's chances of playing in Seattle's Monday night game at Detroit in Week 4, Macdonald said, "Very optimistic. The extra day helps. We've got to play this game first, but the extra day next week will help."
The Seahawks elevated rookie running back George Holani from the practice squad last week to provide depth behind Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh, but Holani is dealing with an ankle injury, Macdonald said, so it's unclear if he will be available (practice squad players do not have to be listed on the injury report). The Seahawks did add another running back to the practice squad this week, signing Brittain Brown on Wednesday.
Also doubtful for this weekend's game is linebacker Jerome Baker, who left last week's game with a hamstring injury.
"Bake's working his butt off, tried to really give it a go," Macdonald said. "Doesn't look good right now. Everything's going well, it's just probably not good enough at this point."
Two players have been ruled out for the game, tackle George Fant, who injured his knee in Seattle's Week 1 win over Denver, and outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, who will miss a third straight game after injuring his knee in the final preseason game. Macdonald said Nwosu, who was not placed on injured reserve to start the season, which would have caused him to miss the first four games, is pushing to make it back next week.
"I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I know he's optimistic, and he's progressing really quickly," Macdonald said. "It would be great to have him back next week. That would justify not putting him on IR."
Outside linebacker Boye Mafe, who leads the team with 2.0 sacks, is questionable due to a knee injury suffered in last week's game, but Macdonald indicated Mafe should be able to play.
"He's trending positively," Macdonald said. "He looked good today. We'll kind of monitor it over the next couple of days, but it looks good with Boye."
Macdonald also expressed optimism on receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. and safety K'Von Wallace, who are questionable with foot and shoulder injuries, respectively.
"Both look optimistic, I think," Macdonald said. "K'Von had a personal issue, he's also dealing with a shoulder, so it's kind of a mixture there. Then Vis had something with his foot today, but he should be all right."
Also questionable are outside linebacker Derick Hall, who was limited with a hip injury on Friday, and tight end Pharaoh Brown, who also was a limited participant and who is hoping to make his Seahawks debut after missing the first two games with a foot injury.
Macdonald said potentially getting Brown back would "Be great. Pharaoh's a great player, he's been working his butt off, so if he gets a chance to do the things we got him to do the things we do, him, along with AJ (Barner), blocking the C-gap, Noah (Fant), it would give us a good punch there in the tight end room."
