Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks practiced without eight players due to injury and one player for resting purposes as they began their preparation for Week 3 vs. the Dolphins. There were four offensive players and five defensive players that were unable to participate in the team's first practice of the week. Among the offensive players missing from practice was running back Kenneth Walker III who hasn't practiced since injuring his oblique in the Week 1 win over the Broncos. DK Metcalf is coming off of a team high of 129 receiving yards and one touchdown in the overtime win over the Patriots last week but is now dealing with a hand injury the kept him out of practice on Wednesday. Tight end Brady Russell and guard Laken Tomlinson did not practice as Russell has a shoulder injury and Tomlinson was given the day off to rest.

The defense is dealing with injuries to some of its key players as five of them were held out of practice to start the week. Three linebackers, Jerome Baker, Uchenna Nwosu and Boye Mafe are dealing with lower body injuries that forced them to sit out Wednesday. Baker and Mafe exited the win over the Patriots and were unable to finish the game. Baker had been dealing with a hamstring issue that limited him in practice throughout last week and reaggravated the injury in Foxborough. Mafe was healthy heading into Week 3 but sustained a knee injury late in the 4th quarter and couldn't return to the game despite his best efforts. Leonard Williams was another important player on the defensive front that couldn't practice as he is dealing with a knee injury.

There were six players that were limited on Wednesday including wide receiver Tyler Lockett. The ten-year veteran has been consistently limited in practice to start the season but has been able to make an impact in each of the first two weeks. Tackle George Fant is working his way back after suffering a knee injury in Week 1 that prevented him from playing against New England. Fant was limited in practice on Wednesday which is a good sign that he is making progress towards returning to game action. Two more tight ends are trying to work through injuries as Pharaoh Brown (foot) and Noah Fant (toe) were limited. Brown has dealing with a foot injury since training camp and has yet to make his Seahawks' debut. Devon Witherspoon is listed on the injury report as a limited participant due to a hamstring injury.

The Miami Dolphins' injury report was lighter than the Seahawks as they only had two players who missed practice on Wednesday. Left tackle Terron Armstead was held out due to a shoulder injury while Calais Campbell was given the day off for rest.
