Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks practiced without ten players to start their week of preparation for their regular season home finale vs. the Vikings as six players sat out due to injury and four veterans sat out for resting purposes.

In good news, quarterback Geno Smith was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, just three days after suffering a knee injury against the Packers. Smith sustained a knee injury in the second half of Sunday's loss to Green Bay and was unable to return. Despite the injury, Smith was feeling well enough to get a full workload in today. "Geno feels good," coach Macdonald said before practice. "He did walkthrough today. We've got a plan for practice, we'll see how it kind of alters his practice as it clears, but he'll be out there for a significant capacity today. We'll see how many reps he takes."

The team's top two leading rushers, Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet, did not practice today as they are dealing with injuries. Walker hasn't practiced in the past couple of weeks due to a calf injury he suffered in the Week 13 win over the New York Jets. While he remained out of practice today, Walker participated in the team's walkthrough and could get an increased workload tomorrow. "We're optimistic. We'll see about how many reps today, but he did walkthrough. We'll probably ramp it up a little bit more tomorrow," said head coach Mike Macdonald prior to practice. Charbonnet has gotten the majority of the carries in Walker's absence but is now dealing with an oblique injury that prevented him from practicing today.

Center Olu Oluwatimi was unable to practice due to a knee injury that forced him to exit the Week 16 loss to the Packers on Sunday night. Oluwatimi was unable to return to the game so undrafted rookie free agent Jalen Sundell stepped in at center. While he was unable to practice today, the team expects him back in some capacity tomorrow. "Olu, might not see him today in full capacity, but should be out there tomorrow rocking and rolling," said coach Macdonald. DK Metcalf sat out with a shoulder injury that has placed him on the injury report in recent weeks, but it has not prevented him from playing in games.

The Vikings did not practice today but held a walkthrough and were only missing two players due to injury. Cornerback Fabian Moreau (hip) and defensive lineman Jalen Redmond (concussion) were unable to participate in today's walkthrough. Five players were limited including All-Pro safety Harrison Smith who is dealing with a foot injury. Also limited was right tackle Brian O'Neill who suffered a knee injury in Monday's win over Chicago.
