Friday Injury Report

Three players have been ruled out for Sunday's contest vs. the 49ers including tight ends Noah Fant and Brady Russell. Fant will miss his second consecutive game due to a groin injury that prevented him from playing in the Week 9 loss to the Rams and practicing all of this week. The Seahawks will be down another tight end this week as Brady Russell will not play because of a foot injury. Starting center Connor Williams was ruled out for Sunday as head coach Mike Macdonald announced that the team's starting center retired from the NFL earlier this week. "Connor (Williams), earlier this week, decided to retire," said Macdonald after Friday's practice. Second year center Olu Oluwatimi will start in place for Williams.

Wide receiver DK Metcalf will return to the lineup this week after missing the previous two games with a knee injury. Metcalf was a full participant in every practice this week and will be good to go for Sunday as he was not given a game status designation. "We're excited to have DK (Metcalf) back. I'm not sure how we are designating him, but he's ready to go," said coach Macdonald.

Right tackle Abraham Lucas is expected to make his long-awaited season debut this week as he is not listed on the game status report. The third year right tackle has been suffering from a knee injury since last season and has not played at all this year but will be available to play on Sunday after practicing all week. "We're anticipating to see him right now in a pretty significant manner," said coach Macdonald. "We're still on a progression here so the amount of reps that he's going to get, we'll see as the game unfolds. We have a plan, we have a target rep count but we will leave that in house right now. We're excited to see him go do his thing."

The 49ers have ruled three players out for Sunday vs. the Seahawks. Punter Mitch Wishnowsky is dealing with a back injury and will not play because of it. Defensive end Nick Bosa and left tackle Trent Williams are questionable after missing multiple practices this week. Bosa has been dealing with a hip injury since last week but was able to play through in their recent win in Week 10. Trent Williams had been listed with an ankle/NIR-rest designation all week and did not practice. Tight end George Kittle is also questionable after missing one practice and being limited in the other two this week.

Thursday Injury Report

The Seahawks practiced on Thursday afternoon and were missing four players, two due to injury, one for resting purposes and another for personal reasons. Tight ends Noah Fant and Brady Russell remained out of practice for the second consecutive day with groin and foot injuries respectively. Fant missed the team's last game prior to the bye week and has not been able to practice at all this week. Center Connor Williams missed his second straight practice for personal reasons while nose tackle Johnathan Hankins was given the day off for rest.

Defensive end Leonard Williams returned to practice in a limited capacity after sitting out Wednesday with a foot injury. Linebacker Boye Mafe was limited for the second consecutive day with a knee injury that he has been dealing with for a large portion of the season. Mafe sat out two games earlier this season and has been consistently listed on the injury report throughout this year with the same injury. Safety Coby Bryant was limited today as he is dealing with an illness. The third-year safety was not on Wednesday's injury report.

In good news, right tackle Abraham Lucas was a full participant in practice today. Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed confidence in Lucas being able to make his season debut this week and this is a positive step in the right direction for that to come to fruition. DK Metcalf fully practiced for the second straight day which shows that he is close to returning from a knee injury that kept him out of the final two games before the bye week.

The 49ers were missing a few key players from practice today, including defensive end Nick Bosa. The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is dealing with a hip injury. He suffered the injury in practice last week but was able to play in their Week 10 win over the Buccaneers. Left tackle Trent Williams also missed his second straight practice as he is listed an ankle/NIR-rest designation. After missing the first practice of the week, tight end George Kittle returned to practice in a limited capacity.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks returned from the bye week and practiced on Wednesday afternoon without four players, three due to injury and one for personal reasons. Among the three players missing due to injury was defensive lineman Leonard Williams who is dealing with a foot injury. Williams has not been on the injury report in recent weeks and played his usual workload in the team's overtime loss to the Rams two weeks ago.

Similarly, tight end Brady Russell was also unable to practice as he is suffering from a foot injury. Starting tight end Noah Fant continues to miss practice as he is dealing with a groin injury that prevented him from playing in Week 9. Head coach Mike Macdonald said that Fant could potentially miss multiple games in a press conference in the week leading up to the matchup vs. the Rams but his availability for Sunday is still unknown at this point. Center Connor Williams was the only player to miss practice on Wednesday for non-injury related reasons.

Two players were limited in Wednesday's practice including right tackle Abraham Lucas. The third year right tackle has not played all season but was activated from the PUP list on Wednesday morning and could potentially make his season debut this week according to head coach Mike Macdonald. "Abe (Abraham Lucas) practiced today. San Francisco is a realistic expectation at this point," said coach Macdonald on Monday afternoon. Linebacker Boye Mafe was also limited as he is still dealing with a knee injury that has consistently placed him on the injury report throughout the season and forced him to miss two games earlier this year.

Wide receiver DK Metcalf returned to practice in a full capacity on Wednesday afternoon after not practicing since injuring his knee in the Week 7 win over the Atlanta Falcons. While Metcalf has progressed enough in his recovery to be able to practice, his status for Sunday is still unknown. "I don't know yet. Going to practice today and then see how it goes," said Metcalf prior to practice today.

The 49ers were missing six players from Wednesday's practice including All-Pros Nick Bosa and George Kittle. Bosa is listed with a hip injury and Kittle sat out with a hamstring injury. Running back Christian McCaffrey was limited today after making his season debut last week. The star running back has been dealing with an achilles injury all season.
