Friday Injury Report

The Seahawks have ruled one player, tackle Abraham Lucas, out for Sunday's Week 8 matchup vs. the Buffalo Bills at Lumen Field. Lucas returned to practice this week after not participating in any practices this season because of a knee injury suffered last year. The starting right tackle is making good progress towards returning to game action this season but isn't expected to be available until after the bye week at the earliest.

Two players are considered doubtful for Sunday including wide receiver DK Metcalf. Metcalf injured his knee against the Falcons and was unable to participate in any of the three practices this week. "It's doubtful right now for the game. It's not out of the question, 100% yet so we will take it to Sunday, and we'll go from there," said head coach Mike Macdonald after Friday's practice. Nose tackle Cameron Young is the other player listed as doubtful this week. Young has been practicing in a limited capacity in recent weeks after being activated from the PUP list earlier this month.

Cornerbacks Tre Brown and Nehemiah Pritchett are questionable for Sunday as they are both working their way back from ankle injuries. Pritchett stepped in for the injured Brown last week and suffered an ankle injury that forced him to exit the win over the Falcons. "Tre (Brown) practiced today and is trending positively for the game," said coach Macdonald. "Anything can happen between now and then but (we're) optimistic with Tre." While two cornerbacks are questionable, Riq Woolen is not on the game status report so he will be available to play on Sunday after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury. Right tackle George Fant hasn't played since the season opener but could return this week as he is questionable for the matchup vs. Buffalo. Regardless of his status for Sunday, coach Macdonald said rookie Michael Jerrell will make his second consecutive start at right tackle.

The Bills have ruled out three players and listed one as doubtful for their Week 8 matchup at Seattle. Linebacker Terrel Bernard, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter and wide receiver Curtis Samuel will not play on Sunday due to injuries. Bernard and Samuel were not able to practice at all this week while Carter was limited in each of the three practices.

Thursday Injury Report

There were four players who were unable to practice on Thursday due to injury including DK Metcalf as he missed his second consecutive practice because of the knee injury he suffered in the Week 7 win in Atlanta. He is working relentlessly to make it back in time for Sunday, but his status is still in question. After being limited in practice to start the week, defensive linemen Mike Morris (ankle) and Cameron Young (knee) were unable to participate. Young was activated from the PUP list earlier this month.

Cornerback Tre Brown remains out as he is trying to recover from an ankle injury suffered in the Week 6 loss to the 49ers. Brown has not practiced since being injured two weeks ago. While Tre Brown is still unable to practice, cornerbacks Riq Woolen and Nehemiah Pritchett were able to be limited participants today. Woolen practiced for the second consecutive day which is a positive sign that he is closer to returning to game action.

In good news, Kenneth Walker III returned to practice in a limited capacity after missing Wednesday's practice due to an illness that he has been dealing with since last week. He was able to play and be effective in the team's most recent game, so he is expected to be available to play on Sunday barring any setbacks. Tackle George Fant and Abraham Lucas practiced in a limited capacity for the second straight practice. Lucas has not played at all this season while Fant has not played since Week 1. With Stone Forsythe on injured reserve, the team has turned to rookie tackle Michael Jerrell as the starter on the right side of the offensive line.

After missing five players from Wednesday's practice, only two Bills players missed practice on Thursday. Linebacker Terrel Bernard and wide receiver Curtis Samuel were absent from practice as they are dealing with injuries. After being limited on Wednesday, linebacker Dorian Williams and safety Damar Hamlin fully participated today despite dealing with lower body injuries.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks held their first practice of the week and were missing five players including DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III. Metcalf injured his knee in the win over the Falcons and is considered week-to-week. "He's got a minor MCL. Timeline not sure. It doesn't look like it's a long-term injury," said head coach Mike Macdonald in Monday's press conference.

"You guys know DK (Metcalf). We know DK. He's going to probably do anything humanly possible to be able to play in this game, I would imagine. And we'll assess that as the week unfolds here." The NFL's third leading receiver was unable to practice and coach Macdonald does not expect him to practice on Thursday either. Running back Kenneth Walker III did not practice as he is still dealing with an illness that has been affecting him since last week. Despite being sick, Walker was able to play in Atlanta and have a strong performance in which his teammates have been referring to as his 'flu game'.

The defense was also missing a few key players in Wednesday's practice as Tre Brown, Leonard Williams and Nehemiah Pritchett were unable to participate due to injuries. Cornerback Tre Brown is still trying to recover from the ankle injury he sustained in the Thursday Night Football loss to the 49ers in Week 6. Pritchett filled in for Brown in his absence against the Falcons but also suffered an ankle injury in the Week 7 win. Riq Woolen, who has also been working through an ankle injury, returned to practice in a limited capacity to start the week. Woolen was forced to exit the Week 5 loss to the Giants with the ankle injury and has missed the last two games because of it. His return to practice is a good sign that he's getting healthier.

The offensive line has been dealing with injuries all season, specifically at the right tackle position, but tackles Abraham Lucas and George Fant were designated to return to practice this week. Lucas has not been able to participate in practice at all this season as he has been working tirelessly to recover from a knee injury suffered last season. While Lucas returned to practice this week, the team doesn't expect him to see game action until after the bye week at the earliest. "I think we are shooting for after the bye in terms of what's the smartest thing for him and the rest of the guys," said coach Macdonald. Veteran George Fant also returned to practice for the first time since getting injured in the first game of the season. He suffered a knee injury in his season debut and was placed on injured reserve a couple of weeks later.

The Bills began their week of preparation with five players missing practice due to injury. In addition to the five players missing from Wednesday's practice, there were six players limited including two starters in the secondary, Taron Johnson and Damar Hamlin, as they are dealing with injuries. Quarterback Josh Allen is listed on Wednesday's report with a left-hand injury but was able to fully participate.
