Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks were missing four players from practice, including DK Metcalf, as they began their week of preparation on Wednesday afternoon. Wide receiver DK Metcalf did not practice to start the week as he is working his way back from a knee injury suffered in the Week 7 win in Atlanta, but the team is optimistic he can return to practice this week. "I know you are going to ask about DK (Metcalf). The guy is doing a great job, confident. He's still not going to practice today, but we are optimistic for tomorrow so we will play it day-by-day,"

Cornerback Devon Witherspoon was among the four players to miss practice on Wednesday as he is dealing with a foot injury. He was able to play the entirety of the team's most recent game against the Bills but is now suffering from a foot injury. Defensive lineman Leonard Williams didn't practice but is not injured and was given the day off for resting purposes. Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. was the fourth player absent from practice as he was unable to participate because of a knee injury.

Eight players were limited on Wednesday, seven because of injury and one due to resting purposes. Tackles George Fant and Abraham Lucas both continue to be limited in practice as they are working their way back from knee injuries. Lucas is making good progress towards making his season debut, but it won't be until after the Week 10 bye at the earliest. "We've got a good plan, and we'll see," he said. It's hard to tell right now where that's going to land after the bye," said head coach Mike Macdonald when asked about Lucas prior to practice on Wednesday. Linebacker Dre'Mont Jones exited the loss to the Bills, but the team believes he will be ready to play by Sunday. "He's got a shoulder," Macdonald said. "We're going to take care of him throughout the week to make sure he's ready to go on Sunday, but we're optimistic he'll be ready to go."

While Devon Witherspoon is dealing with a foot injury, the cornerback room seems to be getting healthier as Tre Brown and Riq Woolen were full participants on Wednesday. Woolen and Brown were both active last week after missing game action because of ankle injuries. Brown didn't play in the loss to the Bills but was active for the game. Rookie cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett was inactive last week after suffering an ankle injury in the win over the Falcons but was able to practice in a limited capacity today.
