Friday Injury Report

Four players, including DK Metcalf, have been ruled out for Sunday's contest vs. the L.A. Rams. Metcalf was unable to practice all week as he is still recovering from a knee injury suffered in Week 7. While Metcalf is making good progress in his recovery, the team felt he could use more rest as the team has the bye week coming up next week. "DK is out. We've been talking about it for the whole time now, but he just needs more time," said head coach Mike Macdonald after practice on Friday. "There was nothing that he could have done differently, we just need more time for him so that's what is best for him and the team."

Tight end Noah Fant has also been ruled for Sunday as he has been dealing with a groin injury all week. Fant was limited in the first practice of the week and was unable to participate in the two following practices. "Noah hurt his groin in practice on Wednesday I believe so he's going to need some time and will be out this week," said coach Macdonald. Fant could miss time beyond the bye week but is not expected to be placed on IR. "It's going to be some time. We don't anticipate him being on IR, but we are unsure of his availability after the bye right now."

As expected, tackle Abraham Lucas will not make his season debut this week as he has been ruled out. Lucas has practiced in a limited capacity in each of the past two weeks but with the bye week coming up, the right tackle will get more time to work his way back from a knee injury suffered last season. Nose tackle Cameron Young will miss his third straight game after playing in his only game of the season in Week 6 vs. San Francisco. Young began the season on the PUP list with a knee injury.

The only player listed as questionable is recently acquired linebacker Ernest Jones IV. The former L.A. Ram and Tennessee Titan made his Seahawks debut last week vs. Buffalo and made an immediate impact as he led the team with 15 tackles. After not being listed on the injury report all week, Jones IV is questionable with a neck injury for the upcoming matchup against his former team. "EJ was out today with a neck. It stiffened up on him so we will take that day-by-day, but we just took care of him today," said coach Macdonald.

Three Rams players are ruled out including offensive lineman Joe Noteboom who fully participated in each of the three practices this week but will not play this week. After leaving practice early on Thursday afternoon due to a knee injury, wide receiver Puka Nacua is listed as questionable for Sunday. "Fortunately, there's nothing structurally [wrong]. He'll be listed as questionable, but I wouldn't bet against this guy," said Rams head coach Sean McVay in Friday's press conference. "My expectation is he's going to do everything in his power to be ready to roll, and that's the mindset that we have."

Thursday Injury Report

Wide receiver DK Metcalf was one of five players to miss Thursday's practice as three were absent due to injury and two were given the day off for resting purposes. Metcalf missed his second consecutive practice because of the knee injury he sustained in the Week 7 win in Atlanta. The team is optimistic that he is making good progress in his recovery but his status for Sunday is still unknown. After being limited on Wednesday with a groin injury, Noah Fant sat out practice on Thursday. Nose tackle Cameron Young was unable to practice because of the knee injury that forced him to miss all but one game this season. Linebacker Tyrel Dodson and nose tackle Johnathan Hankins were given the day off for rest after fully practicing on Wednesday.

Six players were limited in today's practice including Laviska Shenault Jr. who missed practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. Tackles George Fant and Abraham Lucas remain limited as they are still in recovery from knee injuries that has kept Lucas out all season and forced Fant to miss every game since Week 1.

After missing practice on Wednesday because of a foot injury, cornerback Devon Witherspoon returned to practice without any limitations on Thursday. Similarly, Tyler Lockett, who was limited in the first practice of the week with an oblique injury, fully practiced today.

The Rams had three players absent from Thursday's practice including nose tackle Neville Gallimore who missed the second consecutive practice due to a shoulder injury. Star second-year wide receiver Puka Nacua, who returned from injured reserve last week, reportedly left practice early today with a knee injury.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks were missing four players from practice, including DK Metcalf, as they began their week of preparation on Wednesday afternoon. Wide receiver DK Metcalf did not practice to start the week as he is working his way back from a knee injury suffered in the Week 7 win in Atlanta, but the team is optimistic he can return to practice this week. "I know you are going to ask about DK (Metcalf). The guy is doing a great job, confident. He's still not going to practice today, but we are optimistic for tomorrow so we will play it day-by-day,"

Cornerback Devon Witherspoon was among the four players to miss practice on Wednesday as he is dealing with a foot injury. He was able to play the entirety of the team's most recent game against the Bills but is now suffering from a foot injury. Defensive lineman Leonard Williams didn't practice but is not injured and was given the day off for resting purposes. Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. was the fourth player absent from practice as he was unable to participate because of a knee injury.

Eight players were limited on Wednesday, seven because of injury and one due to resting purposes. Tackles George Fant and Abraham Lucas both continue to be limited in practice as they are working their way back from knee injuries. Lucas is making good progress towards making his season debut, but it won't be until after the Week 10 bye at the earliest. "We've got a good plan, and we'll see," he said. It's hard to tell right now where that's going to land after the bye," said head coach Mike Macdonald when asked about Lucas prior to practice on Wednesday. Linebacker Dre'Mont Jones exited the loss to the Bills, but the team believes he will be ready to play by Sunday. "He's got a shoulder," Macdonald said. "We're going to take care of him throughout the week to make sure he's ready to go on Sunday, but we're optimistic he'll be ready to go."

While Devon Witherspoon is dealing with a foot injury, the cornerback room seems to be getting healthier as Tre Brown and Riq Woolen were full participants on Wednesday. Woolen and Brown were both active last week after missing game action because of ankle injuries. Brown didn't play in the loss to the Bills but was active for the game. Rookie cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett was inactive last week after suffering an ankle injury in the win over the Falcons but was able to practice in a limited capacity today.
