The Seahawks elevated safety Marquise Blair and cornerback Artie Burns from their practice squad ahead of Sunday's season-opener against the Broncos.

Burns, who was released when the Seahawks reduced the roster to 53 players then re-signed to the practice squad, spent most of training camp as the No. 2 nickel cornerback behind Devon Witherspoon, and also saw some time with the starting defense when Witherspoon played left cornerback. Burns, who first signed with the Seahawks in 2022, also opened last season on the practice squad, only to be elevated for the opener, then was signed to the 53-man roster after two games. Last season Burns appeared in 14 games with one start.

Blair, a second-round pick in 2019 who spent his first three seasons with the Seahawks, returned to the Seahawks this summer after spending 2022 with the Panthers and missing all of last season after tearing his Achilles in the offseason.

In his three seasons with the Seahawks, Blair appeared in 22 games, including 14 games with three starts as a rookie before injuries limited him to just eight games over the next two seasons.

Five things to know about the Denver Broncos, who come to Lumen Field on Sunday for the NFL season opener.
