The Seahawks elevated two players off of their practice squad ahead of Monday night's game against the Giants, receiver Cody Thompson and cornerback Lance Boykin.
Thompson played in each of the first three games, primarily on special teams, as a member of the 53-man roster. Thompson was waived earlier this week to make room on the roster for linebacker Jon Rhattigan, who was signed off the practice squad, then added to the practice squad after clearing waivers. Rhattigan had been elevated from the practice squad in each of Seattle's first three games, meaning he had to be signed to the 53-man roster in order to play this week or beyond.
Boykin, an undrafted rookie out of Coastal Carolina, signed with the Seahawks in May following the draft, and will be making his regular season NFL debut assuming he sees playing time. Boykin gives the Seahawks added cornerback depth with Tre Brown (concussion) and Artie Burns (hamstring) both ruled out, and with Coby Bryant doubtful due to a toe injury.
The Seahawks held a walkthrough on October 1, 2023 to prepare for their upcoming matchup with the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Monday Night Football.
