Riq Woolen said his teammate, Leonard Williams, was "going fast as hell" as he returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown in the Seahawks' Week 13 win over the Jets.
"Man, he was moving," added safety Julian Love.
Dre'Mont Jones couldn't believe his eyes as the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Williams sprinted down the sideline.
"Holy crap, oh my God, I can't believe this is happening," Jones said.
It really did happen, and Williams' pick-six was arguably the biggest play in the Seahawks' 26-21 win over the Jets. It was also, as NFL Next Gen Stats shows, a rare feat for a player at Williams' position.
Williams hit 17.84 miles per hour on the return, making it the fastest play by a defensive tackle as a ball carrier since Week 4 of the 2019 season when Ndamukong Suh reached 18.04 mph on a fumble return touchdown.
Williams also had the second fastest speed for a Seahawks defensive tackle as a ball carrier in the Next Gen Stats era dating back to 2016, trailing only Nazair Jones, who reached 18.08 mph on the return of what would have been a pick-six if not for a questionable block in the back call on Cliff Avril. Coincidentally, the quarterback on that play was also Aaron Rodgers.
Williams covered a total of 109.47 yards on the play, the most of any Seahawks player on the field, while the fastest player on the field for the play was safety Coby Bryant, who reached 19.96 mph running down the field to block for Williams, followed by cornerbacks Josh Jobe and Devon Witherspoon, who both hit 19.78 mph.
