Defensive back Ryan Neal, who secured last week's victory over the Dallas Cowboys with a late-game interception, earned himself a spot on the Seahawks roster with his play filling in for an injured Jamal Adams.
Neal was elevated from the practice squad a day ahead of last weekend's game, a move that meant he reverted to the practice squad on Monday, but his stay on the practice squad didn't last long, with the Seahawks signing him to the 53-man roster Wednesday.
Neal fills one of two open spots on the roster with defensive end Rasheem Green going on injured reserve late last week and with linebacker D'Andre Walker getting waived on Tuesday.
The Seahawks also added two players to their practice squad, defensive back Damarious Randall and linebacker Tim Williams.
Randall, a 2015 first-round pick of the Green Bay Packers, has appeared in 65 games over the past five seasons for the Packers and Cleveland Browns, starting 56. He has experience at both cornerback and safety, and has recorded 14 interceptions, 47 passes defensed and 290 tackles in his career.
Williams, a 2017 third-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens, has appeared in 20 games, recording 18 tackles and 2.0 sacks.
In addition to those moves, the Seahawks on Tuesday protected two practice squad players for the week, linebacker Shaquem Griffin and tight end Stephen Sullivan, meaning they can't be signed by other teams. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Griffin, who like Neal was elevated from the practice squad last week, earned a chance to play again in Seattle's Week 4 game at Miami, so he will likely either be added to the roster at some point this week, or elevated from the practice squad again at the end of the week.
