The Seahawks signed defensive tackle Kyon Barrs on Wednesday, adding to their defensive line depth ahead of this weekend's preseason opener.
Receiver Marcus Simms, who signed with Seattle last month, was waived/injured to make room on the 90-man roster.
Barrs, an undrafted rookie, finished his college career at USC after spending the previous four years at Arizona. In 13 games with the Trojans, Barrs recorded 18 tackles, and before that he appeared in 38 games for Arizona, recording 102 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks. Barrs earned All-Pac-12 Second Team honors in 2021 after recording 33 tackles, eight tackles for loss and a team-high 5.0 sacks. After going undrafted, Barrs took part in Tennessee's rookie minicamp as a tryout player.
The Seahawks hosted over 100 members of the United States Air Force at practice on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The Military Day was presented by USAA.
