The Seahawks signed guard Phil Haynes to their practice squad Friday, bringing back the former fourth-round pick two days after waiving him.
Haynes, who the Seahawks selected out of Wake Forest in 2019, battled injuries his first two seasons and has appeared in only two regular season games—he also saw extensive playing time at left guard in Seattle's Divisional Round loss at Green Bay two years ago after taking over for an injured Jamarco Jones—but Haynes did have a strong training camp and performed well in the preseason.
The addition of Haynes, as well as former Baylor basketball standout Mark Vital on Thursday, fills out the Seahawks' 17-player practice squad (Seattle gets an exemption for linebacker Aaron Donkor, who is part of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program).
