The Seahawks signed outside linebacker Joshua Onujiogu off their practice squad Saturday, and placed running back Travis Homer on injured reserve to make room on the 53-man roster.
The Seahawks also elevated linebacker Alexander Johnson and receiver Cade Johnson off the practice squad.
Homer, who injured his ankle in Seattle's Week 16 game in Kansas City, missed last week's game and was listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report.
Onujiogu, who signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted rookie out of Division III Framingham State, has spent the entire season on Seattle's practice squad, and was elevated for Seattle's Week 9 game against Arizona. Playing 11 snaps on defense in that Seahawks victory over the Cardinals, Onujiogu recorded three tackles.
Alexander Johnson will be making his Seahawks debut after signing to the practice squad in October, and he gives Seattle experienced depth at linebacker with Jordyn Brooks going on injured reserve earlier this week. He spent the previous four seasons with the Broncos, appearing in 38 games with 34 starts, including starting all 16 games in 2020 when he recorded 124 tackles, four tackles for loss and five quarterback hits.
This is the third practice squad elevation of the season for Cade Johnson, who also played in last week's win over the Jets and Seattle's Week 8 victory over the Giants.
