The Seahawks signed rookie linebacker Jamie Sheriff to the practice squad on Wednesday morning, filling the final practice squad roster spot after the team released linebacker Michael Dowell earlier in the week.

Sheriff was a late addition to the team in training camp but was able to make an immediate impact in the preseason as he had eight tackles and three sacks in the three games. The rookie out of South Alabama was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers following the preseason and would go on to play one game for them before being waived in September.

Seattle signed Sheriff to the practice squad on September 13 and made his Seahawks' regular season debut as he was a gameday elevation for the Week 6 Thursday Night Football matchup vs. the 49ers where he played eight snaps on special teams. He was released from the practice squad on October 30 but is being brought back during the team's bye week.
