The Seahawks added two more players to their practice squad Friday, including Tyus Bowser, a veteran outside linebacker who is very familiar to Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald, having spent his entire seven-year career with the Ravens.
The Seahawks also signed cornerback Faion Hicks to their practice squad and released tackle Garret Greenfield, filling out their 17-player practice squad. Additionally, rookie tight end Jack Westover was waived from injured reserve with an injury settlement.
Bowser, a second-round pick out of Houston in 2017, appeared in 89 games over six seasons—he missed the entire 2023 season due to injury—starting 23, including all 17 games in 2021 when he had career highs in sacks (7.0), tackles (59) and tackles for loss (eight). That career-best season ended, however, with a torn Achilles in Baltimore's final game, limiting him to nine games with four starts in 2022. Bowser then missed the 2023 season due to a knee injury.
Hicks, a seventh-round pick out of Wisconsin in the 2022 draft, has spent time with the Broncos, Saints and Browns over the past two seasons, appearing in two games for the Broncos as a rookie. A four-year starter at Wisconsin, Hicks, appeared in 44 games over four seasons with 39 starts, earning All-Big Ten honorable mention honors in 2020 and 2021.
