The Seahawks signed tackle McClendon Curtis off of their practice squad, adding depth at that spot with George Fant dealing with a knee injury sustained in Seattle's season-opening win over the Broncos.

Fant was placed on injured reserve to make room on the 53-man roster, meaning he will miss at least four games before potentially being eligible to return.

Additionally, the Seahawks elevated two players from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, linebacker Patrick O'Connell and outside linebacker Tyus Bowser.

With a spot open, the Seahawks re-signed Marquise Blair to the practice squad, a former second-round pick who signed in August, then opened the season on the practice squad before being released on Wednesday.

Bowser, a 2017-second round pick, provides outside linebacker depth with Boye Mafe and Derick Hall both listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Bowser is new to the Seahawks, having signed on August 30, but the eighth-year pro is familiar with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald and his defense, having spent his entire career in Baltimore. Bowser's best season came in 2021 when he started all 17 games, recording 7.0 sacks, 59 tackles and 15 quarterback hits. That season ended with a torn Achilles, however, limiting Bowser to nine games in 2022. He then missed the entire 2023 season due to a knee injury.

O'Connell, who signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Montana last year, spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad, appearing in one game. He gives the Seahawks additional inside linebacker depth with Jerome Baker listed as doubtful due to a hamstring injury. Rookie Tyrice Knight is expected to get the start alongside middle linebacker Tyrel Dodson if Baker is indeed unable to play.
