Taking a look at what the experts think the Seahawks may do in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

With the Super Bowl LVIII matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs set, we are one step closer to the offseason, and April's 2024 draft. Here's what the national media thinks Seattle will do with the No.16 pick, in the second mock tracker of the 2024 offseason.

16. Brock Bowers, tight end, Georgia

The Seahawks have plenty of other needs outside of the tight end position, but it's gonna be hard for general manager John Schneider to pass up a blue-chip player like Bowers at no. 16. He can replace Noah Fant and Colby Parkinson, both of whom are headed to free agency, and give the Seattle offense another playmaking star.

16. Seattle Seahawks: Laiatu Latu, edge, UCLA

If Johnson is the hire in Washington, you'd have to assume Mike Macdonald is the Seahawks' preference — and there's no way Macdonald would want to leave Round 1 without addressing Seattle's weak pass rush. Latu ranked fourth in sacks and pressure rate among defenders with 200-plus pass-rush snaps. He wins with speed and length, creates mismatches when he lines up over guards and center and can drop into coverage on occasion.

16. Seattle Seahawks: Byron Murphy II, defensive tackle, Texas

This team got trucked trying to defend the run last season … and that was despite the trade for pending free agent Leonard Williams that bore little fruit.

No. 16: Taliese Fuaga, offensive tackle, Oregon State

Charles Cross and Abe Lucas are set to be the Seattle Seahawks' starters at the tackle spots. So Taliese Fuaga can be a high-ceiling plug-and-play guard for the Seahawks with a move to right tackle still in play if need be.

16. Seattle Seahawks: Jer'Zhan Newton, defensive tackle, Illinois

Only the two-win Carolina Panthers allowed more rushing touchdowns than the Seahawks' 24 last season, making the front seven a draft-day priority even if the club retains veteran starters Leonard Williams and Mario Edwards Jr. Newton is a pocket-collapsing penetrator, a three-year standout and teammate at Illinois with Seattle's flashy rookie Devon Witherspoon.

16. Seattle Seahawks: Byron Murphy II, defensive tackle, Texas

It will be interesting to learn what new head coach Mike Macdonald envisions for this team. Where does he see weakness on the roster? Defensive tackle is one spot the team could address.

16. Kamren Kinchens, safety, Miami

Most clubs will have Kinchens as the top safety in the class, as he is a rangy, versatile defensive back.

16. Kool-Aid McKinstry, cornerback, Alabama

The Seahawks struck gold with Devon Witherspoon in last year's draft, and they go back to the well again in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft. Pairing Witherspoon with Alabama Crimson Tide cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry gives Seattle one of the best young cornerback partnerships in the NFL.

Bobby Wagner, Geno Smith, Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love, DK Metcalf and Nick Bellore took part in the skills challenges at the 2024 Pro Bowl Games. Check out photos from all the action.
