News From The NFL Combine

Head coach Mike Macdonald, general manager/president of football operations John Schneider and Seahawks staff are in Indianapolis for this year's NFL Combine to evaluate and meet with draft prospects. This week, both Macdonald and Schneider have spoken with the media about their goals for the offseason and where they feel like the team is this offseason compared to last season.

The Seattle Sports Commission honored Seahawks President Chuck Arnold, Marshawn Lynch, Kam Chancellor, Steve Broussard and Howard Mudd at its Seattle Sports Star Awards and at the Pacific Northwest Hall of Fame Award show.

Seahawks Legends Kam Chancellor, Steve Broussard and former offensive line coach Howard Mudd were all honored by the PNW Hall of Fame for their sports contributions to the Pacific Northwest.

Seahawks president Chuck Arnold was named the 2025 Sports Leader of the Year, while Seahawks Legend Marshawn Lynch was named the recipient of the Paul G. Allen Humanitarian Award.

The Weekly John Schneider Show

During this week's Seattle Sports' John Schneider Show, Seahawks general manager/president of football operations talked all things NFL Combine and Geno Smith.

Schneider said that they will be meeting with Smith's agent on Friday to get a sense of where he stands in terms of a new deal, Schneider reiterated that the goal is to get Smith an extension.

"We hope to get an extension with Geno," Schneider said. "Geno knows he's our guy. We love him and we want to keep going forward."

The Seahawks hold the No. 18 overall selection in the first round of this year's NFL Draft, which is just over two months away. Last year, with their first-round pick, the Seahawks drafted Byron Murphy II. National media members in this edition of the mock draft tracker have Seattle taking anywhere from an offensive lineman to a tight end.
