Pick: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

"The Seahawks begin to build around Sam Darnold with the talented receiving tight end from Michigan."

Pick: Walter Nolen, DT, Mississippi

"Nolen can be very disruptive. That was on display this past season at Ole Miss and during Senior Bowl practices."

Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

"Yes, the last time Seattle selected a running back in the first round it didn't go so well with Rashaad Penny at No. 27 overall in the 2018 draft. However, Mike Macdonald wants to run the football, and Jeanty is one of the most explosive playmakers available in this year's draft."

Pick: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

"Offensive line is definitely going to be looked at here, but the Seahawks instead add blocking help elsewhere by adding Warren to a room with Noah Fant and the promising AJ Barner. Warren has real in-line blocking potential and can align across the formation as a receiver. His versatility fits perfectly with Klint Kubiak's preference for using two tight ends or a fullback on early downs."

Pick: Donovan Jackson, G, Ohio State

"A readily evident deficiency on the interior has become an even more glaring necessity to address with the signing of Sam Darnold, who has shown that proper protection can be the difference between him being a confident distributor or wilting in the face of pressure. Stout yet fleet-footed, Jackson can keep all sorts of defensive linemen at bay while also helping Seattle adapt to a new identity rooted in the ground game."

Pick: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

"The Seahawks seem to be going into a surprising rebuild after trading quarterback Geno Smith to the Raiders. Their once-strong receiving corps has also become a weakness after Tyler Lockett's release and DK Metcalf's trade.

Burden would lighten the load on Jaxon Smith-Njigba and is the best after-the-catch receiver in this draft class. His 50 forced missed tackles since 2023 ranked third among FBS receivers, and his 1,097 yards after the catch were the fourth most."

Pick: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

"Despite his position, this might be Emmanwori's floor. His athleticism, at 6-3, 220, is actually off the charts (he currently has the highest Relative Athletic Score score ever for a safety), and he just turned 21 a month ago. Emmanwori is a true hybrid defender with limitless potential — the exact type of prospect about which Mike Macdonald dreams."

Pick: Malaki Starks, DB , Georgia

"The first pick makes head coach Mike Macdonald a happy camper, as the Seahawks land the top defensive back prospect in this draft class, making an already strong secondary unit even better. Starks may be listed as a safety, but in reality he can line up anywhere and ball out. Last season with Georgia he put in 400 snaps at deep safety, over 200 in the box, 271 in the slot plus a couple handfuls at cornerback and up front on the defensive line. Starks also brings serious ball skills, having posted six interceptions and 17 pass breakups in 43 college games."

Pick: Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama

"What a conundrum. It doesn't feel like the Seahawks can afford to ignore their offensive line, but the same can be said for their wide receiver room. Marquez Valdes-Scantling should help, but that's not enough. Even still, I like the value here a little better at guard, and I'm betting general manager John Schneider wants to be strong on the line of scrimmage."

Pick: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

"The Seahawks add some dynamic playmaking talent to the middle of their defense, grabbing a versatile and athletic defender in Campbell. The former Crimson Tide standout showed off his twitchy movement skills at the combine, posting a 4.52-second 40-yard dash (tied for third among LBs) while jumping 10-foot-7 in the broad (second). Campbell fills a big need at linebacker for the Hawks and can also be featured as a situational pass rusher or blitzer when needed."

The Seahawks signed quarterback Sam Darnold to a multi-year deal on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Darnold began his career after being selected 3rd overall by the New York Jets in the 2018 NFL Draft and would go on to also play for the Panthers, 49ers and Vikings. He was named to his first Pro-Bowl in 2024 after throwing for 4,319 yards and 35 touchdowns in his lone season with Minnesota.
