Former Seahawks S Deon Grant Inducted Into Georgia Sports Hall Of Fame Class of 2022
Last weekend, former Seahawks safety Deon Grant was one of eight athletes inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 2022.
Grant helped lead Josey High School to the Triple-A State Championship as a USA Today All-America defensive back in 1995 before signing with the University of Tennessee. As a Volunteer, Grant won a BCS National Championship in 1998 and was a Consensus All-American in 1999.
The following year, Grant was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft. While he missed his rookie year with an injury, he played three seasons in Carolina and three in Jacksonville before landing with the Seahawks in 2007.
In three years with the Seahawks, Grant totaled 235 tackles and eight interceptions over 48 regular season starts. Grant played the final two seasons of his career with the New York Giants, earning a ring in 2011 as the Giants defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.
