Happy Blue Friday, 12s! Here's a look at what's out there today, October 15, about your Seattle Seahawks.

Good Morning Football's Peter Schrager Confident Geno Smith Will Shine On Sunday Night

NFL Network's Good Morning Football crew had been high on Russell Wilson this season prior to the finger injury he suffered last Thursday. Peter Schrager chose Wilson as his player to shine in Week 3 against the Vikings, and co-host Kay Adams made the same choice the following week for the Seahawks' game against the 49ers. Before the season, Schrager even chose Wilson with his prediction for MVP, and opined on how “ridiculous” it was that Wilson landed outside of the top 10 in the league's annual Top 100 Players rankings.

With Wilson sidelined for the time being, though, Schrager is putting his faith in the Seahawks' next man up. On Friday's episode of GMFB, Schrager explained why he thinks quarterback Geno Smith has the tools to carry the Seahawks to a road win against the Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

"He's been a solid backup quarterback, a solid guy in that locker room, and has now become a bit of a cult hero in that Seattle market," Schrager said. "Because of, not only his quotes in the locker room, but also his overall enthusiasm and how much he loves being a Seahawks player. I can tell you guys, this player is beloved in that building. Beloved."

Smith led the Seahawks on two scoring drives in relief of Russell Wilson in Week 5 against the Rams before throwing an interception on a route where Tyler Lockett tripped and fell down, effectively ending the Hawks' comeback bid. Still, players and coaches raved about Smith's command of the offense and readiness to come off the bench and lead the team.

"Geno Smith is starting for the first time since Week 13, 2017, and I'm here for Geno Smith," Schrager said. "Go have a day, Geno." Click here to watch the full video and see who else the GMFB expects to shine in Week 6.
