Good afternoon, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Friday, February 3 — about your Seattle Seahawks.

Nate Burleson Inducted Into Shrine Bowl Hall of Fame

It's been 20 years since Seahawks Legend Nate Burleson capped off a stellar career at Nevada with a trip to the Shrine Bowl College Showcase. Two decades later, Burleson earns induction into the 2023 Shrine Bowl Hall of Fame class.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Burleson spent his formative years in Seattle. After not being able to follow in his father's footsteps to play for the University of Washington (no football scholarship offer), the O'Dea High School standout committed to the University of Nevada, where he still holds several WAC receiving records. After being selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft, Burleson signed with Seattle in 2006. After five years with the Seahawks, Burleson finished his playing days with the Detroit Lions.

The 98th East-West Shrine Bowl kicked off this week in Las Vegas, with Burleson honored at Wednesday's Shrine Bowl launch event at the Luxor Hotel. The 11-year veteran discussed just what the Shrine Bowl means to him both on and off the field.

"What you can leave behind are footprints big enough for somebody else to walk in," said Burleson "I'm thankful that people can see that I'm much more than a football player."

Over the last decade, Burleson has continued to define the odds for players post-career, as he's made the transition to the small screen. The former Good Morning Football host now stars on CBS Mornings football segment as well as color-commentating the game for the next generation, headlining Nickelodeon's NFL coverage.
