20200221-RoundUp

Happy Friday, 12s!

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Friday, February 21 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Legends Taking Next Step As Coaches

As the NFL Scouting Combine kicks off this weekend, two Seahawks Legends will be on hand for the start of something special in Indianapolis. Former Seahawks defensive back Jimmy Williams and former fullback Michael Robinson will both play a role in the first NFL Legends Community Coaching Clinic, Feb. 22-23.

Many former players are now dedicating their time to developing the next generation of athletes. In fact, more than 500 NFL Legends are currently coaching football at the youth and high school level. At the NFL Legends Community Coaching Clinic, these Legends turned coaches will be equipped with the tools and financial support they need to lead their program and players' growth.

Representing the Seahawks, Williams will go through the event featuring interactive dialogue about proper technique, resources, and coaching best practices. As a participant, Williams will receive a $1,000 grant from the NFL Foundation to be donated to his high school football program and alma mater, Episcopal School of Baton Rouge in Baton Rouge, LA.

Williams played with the Seahawks in 2005 and helped the team win the 2005 NFC Championship and advance to its first Super Bowl. In 2011, he returned to the Episcopal School of Baton Rouge where he serves as assistant football coach and assistant athletic director.

Robinson, who won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks and played fullback for the team from 2010-2013, will also play a role in the clinic as a presenter and member of the NFL Legends Youth Advisory Committee, guiding efforts to preserve and grow youth and high school football. He will join a team of Legends sharing their experiences and insights to help grow the game while stressing character, values, fundamentals, player protection and coaching.
