Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Friday, November 18 — about your Seattle Seahawks.
Is Uchenna Nwosu Pro Bowl Bound?
In March, the Seahawks signed free agent linebacker Uchenna Nwosu to help bolster the pass rush. The fifth-year USC alum is on-pace for a career-year statistically, and NFL Next Gen Stats predicts Nwosu will earn his first Pro Bowl selection for his efforts.
Through 10 games, Nwosu has notched a career-high seven sacks (T-10th), along with two forced fumbles (T-6th), six tackles for loss and three pass deflections.
The Next Gen Stats Analytics team highlights top players at each position weekly based on data. With pro bowl voting opening following Week 10, the team breaks down the science behind the top-10 likeliest players to earn a Pro Bowl nod.
We took a different approach to our methodology this week, leveraging machine learning to power the rankings. We built a model for each position group that predicts the likelihood of a player being selected for the Pro Bowl Games. This model takes into account the most relevant performance metrics for each position and compares them to historical performances of Pro Bowlers over the past five seasons.
The team breaks down Nwosu's inclusion on the list at No.7.

The Seahawks brought in the former second-round pick in March on a middle-market, two-year contract, a signing that has proven to be one of the biggest steals of the offseason. To borrow a concept from basketball, the Millsap Doctrinestates that a part-time player's efficiency will remain stable when they are promoted into a full-time role. This idea most naturally translates to rotational pass rushers in football, which made Nwosu a prime candidate to test this theory's application to the NFL. He flashed elite pass-rushing efficiency as a role player in his first three seasons, before becoming a starter in his fourth and final season with the Chargers. Nwosu has generated at least a 12 percent pressure rate in every season of his career, placing him in exclusive company. The other three players to do so since 2018 are Myles Garrett, Robert Quinn and Marcus Davenport (min. 100 pass rushes). The Seahawks' bet on efficiency has paid off --- Nwosu has recorded 39 pressures in his breakout season, trailing only Za’Darius Smith (40).
Nwosu will look to help Seattle climb to 7-4 against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11.
