Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Monday, February 11 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
It's More Than Just Football
In case you missed this extremely heartwarming piece of content, a video of Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffin went viral on Sunday. Griffin was hosting a fan event in Jacksonville, Florida in which he appeared to surprise a number of fans for a meet & greet. Many of the fans were also amputees and were absolutely thrilled to meet their NFL hero. After hugging and welcoming every fan that came through the line, Griffin did a moderated Q&A about his college football career at UCF, his professional football career with the Seattle Seahawks, and his plans for the future.
The original video was posted on Saturday from Ryan Totka, a celebrity booking agent and University of Central Florida alumn. The Twitter copy read "All.The.Feels 🤗 I'm not crying, you're crying. A special moment with @ShaquemGriffin and @Eric_Harding 🙏 @UCF_Football @UCFAlumni @Seahawks #AgainstAllOdds"
Before the weekend was over, an assortment of major sports news sources including (but not limited to) ESPN, The Checkdown, NBC Sports, and Barstool Sports, were sharing the same video all over Twitter.
The event was titled "Celebrate Independence 2019" and was hosted by Brooks Rehabilitation, a medical rehabilitation center in Jacksonville, Florida. According to the ticket registration page, "Celebrate Independence will feature inspiring individuals family activities, exciting demonstrations and valuable information – all in the name of living life to its fullest." Although the event was free to the community, the meet and greet portion required a $50 per person donation in which all the proceeds went to St. Pete Nitro Track and Field, a nonprofit club for boys and girls founded by Seahawks players Shaquem and Shaquill Griffin.
Social Post Of The Day
Today's 'Social Post of the Day' comes from Sea Hawkers Mexico, as Seahawks offensive tackle Germain Ifedi visited the official Seahawks fan club over the weekend.
