Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's going on out there and any news you might have missed, about your Seattle Seahawks this week.
Seahawks wrap up mandatory minicamp
After OTAs, Seahawks swung right into mandatory minicamp where they practiced for two days and earned their third day off. This wrapped up their offseason program before football picks back up for training camp.
After the two days of minicamp, Macdonald and the coaches were impressed with what they saw from the players.
"Just really couldn't be happier with the effort. That's what I was telling them. The effort, the intent, the energy, the attitude, all the things we're asking them to do, they responded every day. Just really excited about where we're at. We've been going at it here. We had the extra week with the new staff and everything. Felt like it was an opportunity to get out of here healthy and have a great offseason."
Joint practices
This preseason, the Seahawks will be traveling to Tennessee for their second preseason game, and while the team is there, they will be having a two-day joint practice with the Titans. For some of the players who have played with the Seahawks only under the Pete Carroll era, this will be their first experience in a joint practice. Head coach Mike Macdonald said there's a lot to like about them.
"They did it just about every season that I was there," Macdonald said. "Again, you've had some great experiences when it's handled the right way and then some not as great to put it politely. So it's really about controlling the environment. Guys understand what the spirit of the whole thing's about and I believe we will be able to get that done."
Seahawks can visit your high school this fall
During Friday nights this fall, high schools across Washington may have a chance to have Blue Thunder, the Seahawks Dancers, Blitz, DJ Supa Sam, and/or Seahawks Legends and Players visit your football game. The Seahawks are taking nominations for schools, so that Seahawks can visit your game this season. Learn more about the program here.
