Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Thursday, March 21 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
Avril's Acting Debut
If you're from Seattle, have ever been to Seattle, or are even just familiar with the city of Seattle, and you listen to music, then you've definitely heard of the popular rapper, singer, and songwriter Macklemore. The Seattle native and Grammy award winner recently collaborated with a young pop band, Why Don't We, to produce a song called, "I Don't Belong In This Club." The music video for the song was released on Wednesday and it features another Seattle star who is recognizable by all Seahawks fans—former Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril.
In the opening shot of the video, you may notice Avril on the left side of the frame, acting as the bouncer to the night club. It's not until a little before 40 seconds into the video that you see a shot clearly showing the Super Bowl XLVIII champion checking ID's. He's seen again later in the video denying Macklemore into the club, asking, "Mackle-who?" and gesturing to him that he needs to wait in line like everyone else.
The song sends a somewhat satirical message that highlights everything terrible about a night out on the town. When Macklemore shows up for the second verse, the club transforms into a '70s disco party. This track marks the third release of 2019 for the L.A. boyband, while Macklemore is looking towards his performance at the Mariners' home opener at T-Mobile Park on March 28.
One can only imagine how Avril got involved in this project, but how cool to see the Seahawks Legend collaborate with a notable Seattle musician. Who knows, maybe we could see the Pro Bowler hit the silver screen one day in the near future?
Social Post Of The Day
Today's 'Social Post of the Day' comes from Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright, as he shares some photos from his travels in Japan (And yes, he's rocking an M's jersey).
