Seahawks veteran wideout Tyler Lockett continues to amaze in year eight, which could be a career-year.

round up oct 20

Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Thursday, October 20 — about your Seattle Seahawks.

Tyler Lockett Continues To Shine in Year 8

For the last eight years, the Seahawks have been able to rely on wideout Tyler Lockett in every sense. Since being selected by Seattle in the 2015 draft, the former Kansas State Wildcat has been a consistent weapon. Now, he's on-pace for a career year.

The 3-3 Seattle Seahawks are one of the NFL's top stories, led by a perfect blend of veteran prowess and a historic rookie class in the making. Ten-year veteran quarterback Geno Smith is in his fourth year in Seattle, completing 138-188 passes (73.4 percent) for 1,502 yards and 9 touchdowns. Smith's primary target has been Lockett, Seattle's unheralded star who has managed to string three-consecutive 1,000-yard seasons since 2019.

Fantasy Football insider Dwain McFarland on Seahawks wideout Tyler Lockett's uncanny ability to create separation:

The 30-year-old Lockett shows no signs of slowing down literally or figuratively, posting 34 receptions for 423 yards through six games. In Week 5, Lockett scored his first two touchdowns of the season against the New Orleans Saints.

The changing of the guard from former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson to Geno Smith has had no effect on Lockett's production, and Lockett's 423 yards are a career-high for the first six weeks of the season.

Whether a short-yardage situation or a big shot down the field, Lockett has been a threat for defenses in 2022. Lockett is averaging over 12 yards per catch and has recorded five big plays (20+ yard receptions). Lockett is within the top-15 in many receiving categories including yards and receptions, and tied for No.16 in first downs (19).

Lockett and the Seahawks head back on the road for week 7 to face the Los Angeles Chargers. In his second matchup against the Chargers since 2018, Seattle hopes the Tulsa native can keep the hot streak going.
