Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Tuesday, March 19 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
Where's Mario?
There he stood in utter disorientation; Blitz the Seahawk was illuminated by the blinding sun coming through the glass panes of the Washington State Convention Center. Searching around for his cosplay counterpart, the Seahawks mascot thought to himself while in front of the large 'ECCC' block letters, “Where’s Mario?”
Blitz took advantage of the Pacific Northwest's premiere comic and pop culture show and dressed up as popular video game character Luigi to parade around the convention center entertaining fans and meeting other cosplay participants. Sometimes fans were first to find him and ask for a picture, but he also sought after some spirited convention-goers for his own photo opportunities.
Walking around the showrooms you'd either hear, "Hey, it's a Seahawk dressed like Luigi!" Or the inverse of, "Hey, it's Luigi dressed like a Seahawk!" Regardless of how he was addressed, Blitz took his time to show some love to each and every person wanting a photo. And yes, it didn't take too long until he came across his counterpart Mario.
According to their website, Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) "delivers the best that the comics and pop culture industry has to offer directly from the creators, bringing super fans exactly what they crave: interaction with quality content and guests and an inclusive space to celebrate their fandom." It's quite the big deal in Seattle as last year's event brought in 95,000 fans over the four days. ReedPOP is the company that produces the event and they are also responsible for the Comic Con in New York City.
