Good afternoon, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Tuesday, October 10 — about your Seattle Seahawks.
DK Metcalf's brand continues to grow, earning another opportunity off the field.
Seahawks fifth-year wideout and businessman DK Metcalf is blazing his own path, putting his name in the Seahawks record books on the field, and increasing his celebrity status off the gridiron. In signing on as brand ambassador for clothing giant Lululemon, Metcalf becomes the first NFL player inked to endorse the brand.
Last summer, Metcalf sat down with Bloomberg to discuss his growing maturity and eagerness to grow his business savvy through entrepreneurial ventures. On Monday, Metcalf appeared in Lululemon's Get Into ItCampaign, which debuted during Monday Night Football's matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Green Bay Packers. The popular clothing brand features several top athlete ambassadors across several sports, like NBA star Jordan Clarkson, tennis champion Leylah Fernandez and NHL star Connor Bedard. Metcalf commented in the company's official press release about Lululemon being the right fit for his style.
"I see both lululemon and myself as one of one," said Metcalf. "I want to be unique in all that I do—on and off the field. I know lululemon will be a driving force for me. I try to do things outside of the norm. Good style is something that makes a person feel comfortable. Let your light shine, and just be you."
Metcalf's unique personality and style make him stand out just as much as his 6-foot-4, 235-pound frame. From switching his hair color to wearing tuxedo shorts for teammate Tyler Lockett’s wedding, Metcalf isn’t afraid to take risks for comfortability. Metcalf discussed finding that variety in Lululemon’s collection.
"I try to do things outside of the norm," said Metcalf. "Good styling is something that makes a person feel comfortable. Let your light shine, and just be you."
The Ole Miss alum continues to shine bright for the 3-1 Seahawks, leading the offense in receptions (18) and receiving yards (268) along with two touchdowns. At 37 career receiving touchdowns, Metcalf is currently tied with legend Joey Galloway for No. 5 All-Time in franchise history. Seattle's young star continues to be a reliable option on gameday, and a force to be reckoned with as an entrepreneur.
