Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, March 25 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
Putting Family First
"We are all relying on goodwill and compassion to protect our community," said Seahawks Legend Doug Baldwin in one of his recent Tweets. Baldwin has been advocating for the support of our neighbors in need under the new 'Stay Home, Stay Healthy' order.
During these difficult times, one of the larger issues for some Seattle-area families and senior citizens is access to food and health resources. Baldwin and the Family First Community Center Foundation teamed up with Safeway, NW Harvest and its network of community partners, and other local organizations to come together and bring immediate relief those adversely affected by the current global pandemic.
In an eloquent message published on FamilyFirstRenton.org, Baldwin identifies two ways that our community can step up right away to support those individuals and families in need: Donations and Delivery Volunteers. Donations would go directly towards providing food and grocery gift cards to families and organizations in need, while a coordinated 'army' of delivery volunteers would deliver food to the doorsteps of those that need it most.
Baldwin says that "there is no greater time than now to show our compassion for each other. To the brave men and women on the frontlines combating the spread of the virus—Thank you! We owe a great deal of gratitude to you for your sacrifice."
Make sure to drop by FamilyFirstRenton.org for the option to donate now or sign up as a volunteer.
