Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, July 8 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

"TE1" Coming Soon

While training for the 2020 season, Greg Olsen is developing his career beyond football. On the field, the veteran tight end has hauled in 59 touchdowns and racked up over 8,000 yards in his 13-year career. Off the field, he's taken on the role of podcast host for his new show "TE1."

Olsen has seven episodes on the way for the series taking you inside the lives and careers of some of the best tight ends to play the game. Guests include Mike Ditka, Shannon Sharpe, Ozzie Newsome and George Kittle. The series is expected to be released this month or in August.

Olsen is primed for his new off-the-field venture after broadcasting games for FOX and appearing in studio on major networks. With the launch of "TE1," Olsen sees an opportunity to reach listeners beyond traditional outlets.

"Twenty years ago there were very traditional media outlets," Olsen said in a Washington Post interview. "There weren't a lot of seats on pregame shows and broadcast chairs. With digital and podcasting and the amount of radio outlets — traditional stations but with satellite radio — there's a billion ways to get your voice out. Guys are seeing those outlets and taking advantage."

Olsen isn't the only Seahawk to get into podcasting this offseason. Pete Carroll teamed up with Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr to create "Flying Coach", a nine-episode podcast series focused on the coaching side of professional sports. If you haven't already, be sure to check it out.
