Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's "out there" for today — Wednesday, August 29 — about your Seattle Seahawks:

Shaquem On 710 ESPN Seattle

Seahawks rookie linebacker Shaquem Griffin was a guest on "Brock and Salk" with Brock Huard and Mike Salk on 710 ESPN Seattle this week. Here's a quick recap of some of the things he had to say:

On what the experience of being drafted by Seattle was like:

"It was amazing. Going through that entire process being in the draft, I didn't know how it was going to go and obviously it didn't go how I wanted it to, but it kind of planned out perfectly. For me to be able to be here and be back with my brother, I mean, no matter what round or what time you go, when you have an opportunity to be back with your brother again that's the best way to go."

On what he has learned thus far:

"Just being able to learn how to take care of yourself and just learn ... as a rookie you've got to keep your head down and keep working. It's going to be a long season, a long year for you and you want to be able to take everything in and grasp everything because you can learn so much from the guys that are here. K.J. (Wright) and Bobby (Wagner) took me under their wing and have shown me so much."

Do you practice as hard as everyone says?

"Definitely ... I go out there and practice every day like I'm undrafted. I've got to make a name for myself, I've got to make sure that they know that I'm not just here to be here, I want to contribute, I want to be a good teammate and I want to give everything I've got because they gave me the opportunity to be here."
