Good afternoon, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today – Wednesday, September 7 – about your Seattle Seahawks.
K.J. Wright Joins the Brock and Salk Show
It's been an eventful summer for Seahawks Legend K.J. Wright, who announced his retirement following an 11-year career, and now he's going from the playing field to the radio booth. On Tuesday, Seattle Sports 710AM announced that the former Seahawks linebacker would be joining the Brock and Salk show weekly on Wednesday mornings. Every Wednesday from 8 to 9 a.m. Wright will bring his football and Seahawks insights to the Brock and Salk Show.
In July, Wright hung up his cleats, returning to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center to retire as a Seattle Seahawk. The emotional ceremony saw Wright give testimony to his parents on the part they played in his journey to a legendary NFL career.
On Friday, Wright participated in the Seattle Sounders FC Media Match, scoring two goals.
Last week, Wright sat down with Seattle Sports 710AM's Bump and Stacy show to discuss Seahawks rookie cornerback Tariq Woolen. This news will be refreshing to many fans across the pacific northwest looking to hear more from the former 10-year Seahawk.
"When I saw this guy in OTAs, I was like, 'Who is this guy making these plays, getting these interceptions?' Tall and fast," said Wright. "Oh my God, he made a phenomenal play in OTA's, and you see him now, he's comfortable, his technique looks really good, he has the speed."
Just like his playing days shedding blocks, moving sideline-to-sideline, Wright has been on-the-go all summer. Here's a chance to get his thoughts every week on the Seahawks while he's sitting still.
