Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, June 12 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
A Banquet To Boast About
The official booster club of the Seattle Seahawks, the Sea Hawkers, held their annual banquet on June 7, and the event went on without a hitch. Between multiple Seahawks Legends and players attending and the Star Wars theme, the night was filled with fans, fun, and of course, lots of cheering.
Seahawks Legend Marcus Trufant and radio personality Terry Hollimon hosted the banquet as hundreds of fans from our 45 Sea Hawkers chapters around the globe gathered together in Bellevue, Washington to meet, plan, and celebrate a successful year to come. I'm always so impressed in how well our fans travel, so that impression was enforced by the sheer number of chapters represented at the banquet.
The list of special guests did not end there as Seahawks Legend and Hall of Famer Kenny Easley brought the house down sharing incredible stories about his NFL career and how influential the 12s were when making his decision to stay in Seattle. Easley also took the time to answer questions for the fans and snap a few photos.
Former Seahawks defensive end Joe Tafoya also spoke to the group of Sea Hawkers, leading the audience through a visualization of the team's locker room on a gameday in order to nearly feel the energy that the players felt.
From our active roster, punter Michael Dickson made an appearance and was honored as rookie of the year.
In addition to the exciting guest appearances and energetic activity, it was announced that the Sea Hawkers chapters collectively had dedicated over 9,000 hours of their time volunteering in 2018. The Sea Hawkers raised over $271k for various charities. These numbers are something to be proud of as a fan of the Seattle Seahawks, showing the impact a fanbase can have out in the community.
