Good afternoon, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Wednesday, August 21 – about your Seattle Seahawks (and your Seattle Dragons, for that matter):
XFL: Seattle Dragons
Die-hard Seattle sports fans have been waiting for this moment ever since the news broke that the Emerald City would be the home of one of the XFL's eight teams. On Wednesday morning on a live-stream hosted by the XFL, all eight team names and logos were creatively revealed.
As the award-winning author J.K Rowling once wrote, "What's life without a few dragons?"
The League must've taken this one pretty seriously. If this happens to be the first source you see to break the news to you, then I present to you the XFL's most upper-left club, the Seattle Dragons.
If you watch the reveal video embedded above, you'll hear the creative copy that personifies the team's identity, "Rising from the turbulent sea. Beneath the darkening skies of their weather-hardened home. Relentless, ruthless, ravenous. Not a mythology, but a muscle and might. Not a folklore, but a football. This is your darkest fantasy, in cleats. The Seattle Dragons. Breathing fire February 2020."
As I'm sure you're aware, the Dragons' home will be shared with the Seahawks at our very own CenturyLink Field. The season will begin February 2020, and it looks like merch will go on sale beginning this Saturday.
The other team names around the XFL are listed below:
