Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Thursday, September 26 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
Jacob Green: Seahawks Legend of the Year
There's a first time for everything. This time, it was a legend-ary first.
Over the weekend, Seahawks Legend Jacob Green was honored as our first-ever Legend of the Year. The Seahawks presented Green with a $10,000 check last Sunday on-field during the team's Week 3 showdown at CenturyLink Field.
The $10K donation is intended to help support Green's foundation, the Jacob Green Charity Golf Classic. Over the years, the Legend's golf tournament has helped raise nearly $30M for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Half of the donation came from American Family Insurance, a corporate partner of the Seattle Seahawks.
Green was voted as the winner by a panel of judges based on his efforts in the community over the years. Although no longer active players in the National Football League, Seahawks Legends continue to make an impact in the community and devote their time and efforts to make a difference. The Seahawks want their Legends to understand that the organization's support doesn't stop when they stop playing.
Congratulations to Seahawks Legend Jacob Green!
