Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Thursday, December 5 – about your Seattle Seahawks:
Jingle-A-Thon With Jadeveon
It's that time of year— if you happen to make a trip to your local department store to go Christmas shopping, you could potentially find yourself stumbling upon a holiday shopping spree hosted by your favorite Seahawks player.
On Tuesday evening, Seahawks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney hosted his annual 'Jingle-A-Thon with Jadeveon' for local youth whose lives have been impacted by having an incarcerated family member. There were about 25 kids who attended that were all from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound.
Clowney was joined by some of his teammates DE Branden Jackson, DT Bryan Mone and DT Demarcus Christmas. The players took photos with kids and their Bigs, ate dinner together and shopped around the store with the Seahawks. Each kid received a gift card to do some holiday shopping of their own.
The first-year Seahawks DE holds the passion of giving back to youth, and Clowney's hope was to provide kids with a memorable and special holiday experience they deserve and to convey the belief that anything is possible for them.
"I grew up in a single-parent home, my dad was incarcerated for seven years and it was rough for my mom growing up in a single-parent home," says Clowney. "It's time for me to give back to kids, I've been doing this for my fifth year now."
