Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Thursday, December 10 — about your Seattle Seahawks.

Shaun Alexander's Career Featured In 'NFL Films Presents' Video

Before the years of perennial playoff and Super Bowl contention under the leadership of John Schneider and Pete Carroll during the 2010s, the daunting presence of the Legion of Boom, or the Skittles-eating antics of Marshawn Lynch, the early aughts saw another superstar talent bring the Seahawks to national prominence: Shaun Alexander.

The catalyst of the explosive 2005 team that went 13-3 en route to an appearance in Super Bowl XL — a first for the franchise — Alexander won league MVP behind 1,880 rushing yards and a whopping 28 total touchdowns, a league record at the time. The Alabama product would go on to run for more than 9,400 yards with the Seahawks, a team record that still stands today.

NFL Network host and Seattle native Charissa Thompson sat down with Alexander recently to discuss his NFL journey — from starring at Boone County High School, to having to wait for his opportunity at Alabama, and then ultimately winning the starting job with the Seahawks where he would become one of the league's elite rushers.

When asked if he ever surprised himself with his production, Alexander had this to say: "No, no. I really didn't. I wanted to be like a touchdown machine. My goal was to make the other team want me to be their running back.

"I want to score touchdowns, and I want them to think, 'Man, I wish Shaun was my running back.'"
