Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's out there today — Tuesday, December 27 — about your Seattle Seahawks.
Kenneth Walker III Named PFF Rookie of the Week
In a cold Christmas Eve contest, the Seahawks fell 24-10 to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16. But rookie running back Kenneth Walker III was a bright spot, and his 107-yard performance earned Pro Football Focus’ Week 16 top-rookie honor.
Walker's third 100-yard game of the season came on 26 carries. The Michigan State alum has averaged over 4 yards per carry in 7 games, despite carrying the ball 15 times or more in just four contests. A 90.3 grade from PFF ranked the highest among all rookies for Week 16. The PFF team breaks down Walker's selection for rookie of the week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: KENNETH WALKER III, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
The Seahawks rookie rushed for 107 yards on 26 carries (4.1 YPA) and forced five missed tackles along the way. Three of his runs went for 10 or more yards, and he moved the chains six times.
Neither sharing snaps or battling nagging injuries has slowed down Walker this year, as he's become a key factor in Seattle's playoff push. The next two weeks also give Walker a chance to join Seahawks Legend Curt Warner as the only backs in franchise history to rush for 1000 yards in their rookie campaign. At 9 touchdowns on the year, Walker can become one of seven Seattle backs to rush for double-digit touchdowns in a season.
