Tuesday Round-Up: Rashaad Penny Up For Rookie Of The Week At NFL.com

For his breakout performance against the Los Angeles Rams, Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny is one of five players nominated for Rookie of the Week at NFL.com.

Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today - Tuesday, November 13 - about your Seattle Seahawks:

Penny Nominated For Weekly Honor

Running back Rashaad Penny is one of five rookies nominated for Rookie of the Week honors at NFL.com for their play this past week.

Penny, who the Seahawks selected with the No. 27 overall pick in the 2018 draft out of San Diego State, had a breakout day against the Los Angeles Rams, rushing for a season-high 108 yards. Penny's performance included an 18-yard touchdown run for his first NFL score and his effort paced a Seattle offense that ran for a season-high 273 yards. The day after the game, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll called Penny one of the bright spots in his team's 36-31 defeat at L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

"To see Rashaad get his chance and really do something with it, he really jumped out and did a really nice job in the game," Carroll said. "It's great for him, for his confidence and all of that, and great to just see him have some fun playing football."

For Rookie of the Week honors, Penny is up against fellow first-year players in running back Nick Chubb and quarterback Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns, wide receiver Anthony Miller of the Chicago Bears, and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch of the Dallas Cowboys.

Voting is open through 12 p.m. PT on Friday, November 16, with the winner to be announced that same day on NFL Network's NFL Total Access and on NFL.com.
