Good morning, 12s. Here's a look at what's happening today – Tuesday, July 27 – for your Seattle Seahawks.
The Athletic Lists Walter Jones As Top 100 Player In NFL History
When the Seahawks moved up in the 1997 NFL Draft to select Walter Jones, they knew they were getting a special player. As high as expectations were, Jones went out and exceeded all of them.
Over the next 12 years, Jones was a nine-time Pro Bowler, four-time First-Team All-Pro and two-time Second-Team All-Pro. His famed No. 71 jersey is retired by the Seahawks, just the second player after Steve Largent to get his number retired in Seattle. Jones was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014, his first year of eligibility.
Jones is still garnering national recognition, over 10 years after his retirement. The Athletic is in the midst of ranking the top 100 players in NFL history, and Jones made the cut at No. 64.
On Monday, The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar profiled the story of how Seattle drafted Jones to commemorate his appearance on the NFL 100 list. The story has a number of twists and turns, including stories about Jones' time at Florida State and the Seahawks' negotiations to trade up six spots in the draft for Jones.

Steven Hauschka Holding Jersey Auction For The Nature Project
Have you ever wanted to own a piece of Seahawks history? Well, here's your chance. Seahawks Legend Steven Hauschka is currently holding an auction where fans can bid on an autographed, game-worn jersey from the 2013 Super Bowl-winning season.
The "wolf grey" jersey was worn in Seattle's Week 4 win against the Texans, where Hauschka kicked a game-winning 48-yard field goal in overtime to improve the Seahawks to 4-0. The Seahawks erased a 20-3 deficit in the third quarter to win the game as Hauschka made five field goals.
All proceeds from the auction will benefit The Nature Project, which is run by former Seahawks tight end Cooper Helfet. The Nature Project is a non-profit organization focused on "providing underserved youth with the opportunity to experience nature."
You can bid on Hauschka’s game-worn jersey here from now until Wednesday (July 28) afternoon.
