Friday Injury Report

The Seahawks head into Week 18 needing a win and some help around the league in order to get into the playoffs and will have to get it done without four players as they have been ruled out for Sunday. Starting offensive linemen Abraham Lucas and Phil Haynes will both be inactive in Arizona as they are dealing with injuries. Lucas missed a large portion of the season due to a knee injury that forced him to be put on injured reserve. After returning for five games, Lucas exited the loss to the Steelers as his knee issues resurfaced so he will be out for Week 18. Haynes returned to practice this week after spending the last month on injured reserve, but he was unable to complete the practice week to prepare for the Cardinals.

The other two players who are ruled out are Mario Edwards Jr. and rookie running back Kenny McIntosh. Edwards hasn't been able to practice all week due to a knee injury while McIntosh was just added to the injury report today with a thumb injury.

There are four players that are listed as questionable for Sunday including Jason Peters, Nick Bellore, Jarran Reed and Jordyn Brooks. Brooks was forced to leave the Week 16 win over the Titans with an ankle injury that has been bothering him for quite some time and was unable to play last week against Pittsburgh. Reed missed practice time this week with a knee injury so his status for Sunday is still up in the air.

The Arizona Cardinals have ruled three players out and listed six players as questionable for their final game of the season. Among the players ruled out are offensive lineman D.J. Humphries, defensive lineman Dante Stills and cornerback Garrett Williams. Humphries suffered a torn ACL in their Week 17 upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Thursday Injury Report

The Seahawks held their second practice of the week on Thursday and were missing eight players due to injury. After returning to practice for the first time in over a month yesterday, guard Phil Haynes did not participate on Thursday. The guard is trying to make it back in time for the pivotal Week 18 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, but it is still to be determined if he will be ready in time. Like Haynes, Leonard Williams was able to practice on Wednesday, but was held out on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Williams had been dealing with an ankle issue in previous weeks and is now trying to fight through a shoulder injury. Abraham Lucas, Jason Peters, Nick Bellore, Mario Edwards Jr., and Jarran Reed all missed practice for the second consecutive day.

Running back Kenneth Walker III returned to practice in a limited capacity after missing the first practice of the week. Walker has been suffering from a shoulder injury but has been able to play through it so this week should be no different barring any setbacks. Also returning to practice on Thursday afternoon was center Evan Brown who left the Pittsburgh game with a concussion. Brown fully participated on Thursday which is a good sign he could make it back in time for Sunday. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett was added to the injury report with a toe injury, but he was able to practice without any limitations.

Like Wednesday, the Cardinals were missing four players for Thursday's practice. Offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson was the addition to the non-participant list while linebacker Dennis Gardeck returned to practice in a limited capacity after missing Wednesday's practice.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks returned to the practice field in preparation for their regular season finale versus the Cardinals and were missing seven players due to injury. Among the seven players missing from Wednesday's practice were three offensive linemen including starters Abraham Lucas and Evan Brown. Lucas made his return from injured reserve for the Week 13 game in Dallas and has started every game since, but he was forced to exit the Week 17 loss to the Steelers because of the same injured knee. Lucas was unable to return to the Pittsburgh game and there is a chance that he will be unable to return this week.

"Abe's knee is really bothering him. It's going to be hard for him," said head coach Pete Carroll. "We don't have any designations on it yet, but he just couldn't find the power. He just got worn down a little bit in the time he's played over the last month, and he couldn't find it in this game, so we had to get him out of there."

With Evan Brown dealing with a concussion and tackle Jason Peters suffering from a foot injury, the offensive line depth could be tested yet again as it has been all season. While the unit is dealing with a plethora of injuries, they could be very close to getting guard Phil Haynes back as he returned from practice this week after spending the last month on injured reserve with a calf injury. Haynes had been fighting through the injury for most of the season before being sent to IR but is making good progress towards returning to game action.

"Phil is going to practice today and get some work, and we'll see what happens," coach Carroll said. "It's his first week back. He's done a lot of work with the trainers and strength and conditioning, but we've got to see how he does. But it's positive, I know he's very upbeat about wanting to be part of this week."

Kenneth Walker III didn't practice today due to the shoulder injury that has been bothering him for the past few weeks. Despite not practicing, coach Carroll feels good about Walker making it through the week. "He looked very good today. He looked much better than he did Wednesday of last week in this walkthrough here, he was flying around pretty good, so that's a really good sign," said coach Carroll.

After missing the Week 17 game vs. Pittsburgh, Jordyn Brooks was limited in Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. Brooks had been playing through his ankle problems but was forced to exit the Christmas Eve win over the Titans and has not seen any game action since.

The Cardinals were missing four players, three on defense, for Wednesday's practice because of injuries. The one offensive player who was absent from practice was tackle D.J. Humphries who was just placed on the injured reserve after suffering a torn ACL in their upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
