Friday Injury Report

The Seahawks have ruled two players out and listed one player as questionable for Sunday's season debut vs. the Denver Broncos. Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and tight end Pharaoh Brown will not play in Week 1 due to injuries suffered during training camp and the preseason. Nwosu's knee injury that he sustained during the preseason finale will keep him out for the first game of the season, but it was not severe enough to be placed on injured reserve to start the season. Brown suffered a foot injury last month during the team's joint practices vs. the Titans and is not able to get back in time to be ready for gameday.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett is listed as questionable for Sunday due to a thigh injury that limited him in the first two practices this week. Like the other three players who were limited in practice to start the week, Lockett fully participated in Friday's practice and is expected to play vs. Denver. "Tyler (Lockett) looks good. We expect him to play," said head coach Mike Macdonald after Friday's practice. "He's been limited all week, but he's expected to be out there."

Noah Fant, Rayshawn Jenkins, and Dre'Mont Jones do not have game designation statuses after being limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday so they will be available to make their season debut.

The Broncos have not had a player listed on the injury report all week so they will be at full strength heading into Week 1.

Thursday Injury Report

Thursday's injury report remains unchanged from yesterday as there were two players that were held out of practice, and four that were limited. The Seahawks practiced without Uchenna Nwosu and Pharaoh Brown for the second consecutive day this week. Both are dealing with lower body injuries suffered last month.

The same four players that were limited on Wednesday, were limited again on Thursday. Offensive playmakers Tyler Lockett (thigh) and Noah Fant (toe) as well as expected defensive starters Rayshawn Jenkins (calf) and Dre'Mont Jones (hamstring) saw limited action in practice.

In good news, linebacker Jerome Baker has not been listed on the injury report this week which is a good sign that he could make his Seahawks debut on Sunday. Baker missed time throughout the offseason workout program as well as training camp and preseason due to a hamstring injury.

The Broncos made it through Wednesday's practice without suffering injuries, so they do not have any players listed on the injury report.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks start their week of preparation relatively healthy as there are only two players that were held out of practice due to injury, and four players were limited.

Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu has not practiced since sustaining a knee injury in the preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns. The injury happened as a result of an illegal chop block from a Browns' offensive lineman in the one and only drive that the Seahawks defensive starters played in. Nwosu hasn't played in a game since last October due to a torn pectoral muscle that he has fully recovered from, but now deals with a separate injury.

Whether or not Nwosu will be ready to go for Week 1, it's a positive sign that he was not placed on injured reserve to start the season. "Well, we didn't put him on IR so you can probably put two and two together on when we hope to have him back," said head coach Mike Macdonald. "There's no definite timetable right now though."

Tight end Pharaoh Brown was the only other player who did not practice on Wednesday afternoon as he is dealing with a foot injury. Brown suffered his foot injury in Nashville during one of the joint practices with the Tennessee Titans in training camp.

The four players who were limited in the first practice of the week were two key players from each side of the ball. The offense had limited participation from two important playmakers in tight end Noah Fant and wide receiver Tyler Lockett as they are dealing with lower body injuries.

Lockett spoke with media on Monday afternoon and was confident in his availability for Sunday. The ten-year veteran did not play a snap in preseason but isn't concerned that it will affect him heading into the regular season. "Yeah, it was just some things that I needed to kind of get worked on and get fixed. And they didn't want me to kind of go out there and make things worse or kind of put me out to where I'm in jeopardy and not being able to play in the season," said Lockett. "So Mike (Macdonald) did a great job. The athletic training staff did a great job just being able to work with me and give me some of the things that I felt I needed to be able to get back out here. And that's what you want. You want an A-team; you want an A-plus strength and conditioning staff, an A-plus athletic training staff, and so everybody did their job."

The two defensive players that were limited in practice were safety Rayshawn Jenkins and linebacker Dre'Mont Jones. Jones has missed a significant amount of time in training camp and was not available for any of the preseason games due to a hamstring injury he suffered in practice. Jenkins was limited with a calf injury but hasn't missed time in recent weeks because of it.

The Denver Broncos enter the week fully healthy as they did not list any players on their first injury report of the week. The team was able to make it through training camp and preseason without sustaining any serious injuries that will carry over into the regular season.
