The Seahawks pass rush will be missing one of its top players for Monday night's game against the Saints, with defensive end Darrell Taylor inactive due to the neck injury that caused him to leave last week's game strapped to a stretcher.
While Taylor's injury fortunately turned out to not be serious, his neck was stiff during the week, and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he would be a game-day decision.
The Seahawks will have running back Alex Collins, who was also listed as questionable due to a groin injury sustained last week. The Seahawks also have Rashaad Penny at running back after he was activated from injured reserve earlier in the day.
The Seahawks will be without left guard Damien Lewis, who left last week's game with a shoulder injury and was listed as questionable on Saturday's injury. Jamarco Jones took over at guard for Lewis last week, so could be in line to make the start Monday night. Also inactive after being listed as questionable is cornerback John Reid, who has a knee injury.
Quarterback Jacob Eason, who was claimed off waivers earlier in the week, is inactive as expected—Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Eason wouldn't be up to speed with the offense yet to the point that he could play. Jake Luton, who was elevated off the practice squad for the second week in a row, will serve as the backup quarterback behind Geno Smith. Also inactive are rookie tackle Stone Forsythe and defensive end L.J. Collier.
