Injury Updates From Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll On 710 ESPN Seattle

The Seahawks came out of Sunday night's victory healthy, and also could be getting running back Chris Carson back on the field soon.

The Seahawks didn't just come out of Sunday with one of their most impressive performances of the season, they also escaped their 24-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles with no new injuries of note.

"Knock on some wood somewhere, we made it through," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said on 710 ESPN Seattle Monday morning. "It was a great report last night."

And the Seahawks didn't just avoid losing any more players to injury, they could also be getting some weapons back in the near future, most notably rookie running back Chris Carson, who is getting closer to coming off of injured reserve.

"Chris is coming back," Carroll said. "He's looking awesome in his workouts."

Carroll said they don't know exactly when Carson will be ready to play again, but raved about what he saw from the rookie back during last week's workouts with athletic trainers.

"He's unbelievably ahead of schedule," Carroll said. "I watched him run last week, and he was flying. In his first real day of changing direction when they cut him loose, you couldn't tell that he wasn't fine. Now I don't what happened after that, because that was Friday, so I don't know what the repercussions were of that workout, but he just has to show that he's back to full speed and can do it, and we'll get him on the practice field and away we go."

Asked if Carson would practice this week, Carroll said, "I don't know that yet. I've got to hear from the (trainers). But I'm so excited about him coming back, I can't wait. It's probably a couple of weeks of practice time I would think—one week, then show he can come back the next week—before he could play. So if we could cut him loose this week or next week, we'll have him for the last couple of games."

The Seahawks should get defensive end Dion Jordan back this week after he missed the previous two games with a neck injury

"Dion will be back this week," Carroll said. "They told me last night that he will be back to be practicing full-go. He got some work done last week, but now he's back, and he'll have to make it through the week."

The status of defensive tackle Nazair Jones is less certain after the rookie missed Sunday's game due to an ankle injury sustained in practice Thursday.

"Naz, I don't know," Carroll said. "He's got a good little sprain. He was hopeful yesterday that he would be able to make it back, but we'll have to wait and see."
